Ukraine Starts Accepting Applications for Land Reclamation Subsidies
Ukraine has officially launched the application process for state subsidies designed to support the development of land reclamation. This vital state initiative aims to help agricultural producers restore and modernize irrigation systems, which has become increasingly critical amid ongoing climate change and frequent droughts.
The financial support program is structured to stimulate investments in irrigated agriculture infrastructure. Farmers and agricultural enterprises can apply for partial compensation of expenses related to the construction, reconstruction, and rehabilitation of irrigation networks, pump stations, and hydro-technical facilities.
Experts emphasize that expanding and improving land reclamation is a key factor in ensuring stable crop production, particularly in the southern and central regions of Ukraine. Without reliable water supply and modern irrigation technology, securing consistent yields of grains, oilseeds, and horticultural crops remains a significant challenge.
Applications can be submitted through official state platforms and designated communication channels with the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food. The submission process requires strict compliance with guidelines and the provision of technical documentation verifying project feasibility and intended use of funds.
It is anticipated that state backing for the reclamation sector will significantly increase irrigated land areas across the country in the coming years. This growth will bolster the overall resilience of Ukraine's agricultural sector and help mitigate the adverse effects of weather anomalies on national and global food security.
