Ukrzaliznytsia Grain Hoppers and Tank Cars Increase in Price in Ukraine

In Ukraine, an increase in the rental costs for specialized freight rolling stock operated by JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" has been recorded. Starting November 1, the rental rate for grain hopper cars rose to 3,771 UAH per day, marking an increase of 400 UAH compared to the previous month.

As reported on the company's official website, this represents the second price hike following a prolonged period of stability in the rail transportation market. The adjustments also affect other types of cars widely used in agricultural and related economic sectors.

Specifically, the rental of tank cars designated for transporting food products became more expensive in November, reaching 1,850 UAH per day after a 100 UAH increase. A matching rental rate was also established for gondolas, bringing them to 1,850 UAH per day as well.

Additionally, the cost of utilizing cars intended for the transport of flour of conditional type 972 increased by 100 UAH per day, bringing the new rate to 503 UAH per day.

These adjustments may impact the logistical expenditures of agricultural producers and traders involved in the export and domestic transit of grain and food products. Market participants continue to monitor the state company's tariff policies amid ongoing economic conditions.
