Prime Fresh Net Profit Up 51% Driven by Rising Demand

Prime Fresh, a prominent company specializing in the post-harvest supply chain for fruits and vegetables, has reported a significant financial milestone for the June quarter. The company announced a 51% surge in net profit, reaching ₹40 million, supported by robust market demand and improved operational margins.

Revenue for the period saw a 17% increase, rising to ₹620 million from ₹530 million in the previous year. Furthermore, the company’s EBITDA jumped by 51% to hit ₹60 million, highlighting strong operational efficiency and a successful business model in the agricultural logistics sector.

Hiren Ghelani, Whole-time Director, stated that the company has successfully built upon the momentum established over the past year. This performance was underpinned by healthy traction across key categories, including onions, mangoes, and pomegranates. Additionally, the company has seen consistent margin improvement within its Services Business, which is emerging as a critical contributor to overall profitability.

Operationally, the company achieved a 68% year-on-year increase in sales tonnage, totaling 17,982 tonnes. According to Ghelani, this volume growth demonstrates the firm's procurement bandwidth and its ability to efficiently manage high-volume logistics across diverse customer channels. The consistent performance of the onion segment has provided necessary scale, while premium items like mangoes and pomegranates have helped strengthen the overall product mix.

Looking ahead, Prime Fresh remains committed to its long-term strategy, which includes the Cluster Development Programme aimed at strengthening backward integration and enhancing post-harvest infrastructure. Despite a dynamic operating environment influenced by agricultural seasonality and crop-specific quality variations, the company’s diversified sourcing base and omni-channel presence are expected to provide the flexibility required for disciplined growth and sustainable profitability.
