In Kharkiv Region, Guided Bomb Hits Grain Storage Facility, Destroying Sunflower Crop
Russian military forces continue to target Ukraine's agricultural infrastructure, causing severe losses to the farming sector. On October 31, Russian troops launched a guided aerial bomb (KAB) strike targeting the Kupyansk district in the Kharkiv region, according to the press service of the Kupyansk District State Administration.
The enemy airstrike severely damaged a grain storage facility belonging to a local agricultural enterprise. Such attacks on storage infrastructure disrupt supply chains and destroy valuable agricultural commodities that took months of hard work to cultivate.
Upon the impact of the enemy aerial bomb, a massive fire broke out at the grain storage site. The blaze completely destroyed the stored sunflower crop, resulting in substantial financial losses for the enterprise and dealing another blow to the regional agricultural economy.
Fortunately, according to the official reports provided by the district administration, there were no casualties or injuries reported among the facility's staff or local residents as a result of the explosion and subsequent fire.
This incident highlights the ongoing dangers faced by farmers in frontline regions. Previously, Russian attacks on agricultural and civilian logistics in the Kharkiv region have led to tragic outcomes, including an earlier strike on a vegetable storage facility that left six people dead and thirteen others wounded.
