Current Data on Ukrainian Grain Exports in the 2026/2027 Marketing Year

As of October 23, 2026, Ukrainian farmers have shipped over 6.19 million tons of grain and leguminous crops to foreign markets. Despite complicated logistics and wartime challenges, Ukraine maintains its leading positions in the global food market. However, total export volumes have decreased compared to the same period in 2025.

According to official information from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the structure of grain exports in the current marketing year remains heterogeneous. Wheat holds the largest share, with exports reaching 3 million 519 thousand tons, which is 39.5% less than last year. This decrease is attributed to changes in the crop acreage structure and specifics of this year's harvest.

A significant drop is also recorded for barley, with 475 thousand tons exported, down 53.7% from the previous year's figure. Conversely, corn exports increased by 67.3% and reached 2 million 127 thousand tons. Rye shipments remain minimal at just 0.4 thousand tons.

In addition to raw crops, processing products were also affected. By the end of October 2026, flour exports from Ukraine stood at 12.8 thousand tons, or 17.1 thousand tons in grain equivalent. Compared to the previous season, this indicator decreased by 34%, which may indicate producers' greater orientation toward the domestic market or changes in logistics routes.

The overall export volume reduction of 25.2% compared to last year serves as a serious signal for the industry, though the rapid surge in corn supplies partially compensates for the decline in other positions. In the 2025/2026 marketing year, the Ukrainian agricultural sector generated 10 billion US dollars in foreign exchange earnings from grain and oilseed exports, and the current situation demonstrates farmers' active adaptation to new economic and geopolitical conditions.
