The plant originates from the temperate rainforests of Chile and Argentina. Due to this origin, it thrives best in regions with moderate temperatures and high atmospheric humidity, mimicking its native habitat.
Regarding soil requirements, Luma prefers rich, slightly acidic to neutral soils that provide excellent drainage. While it appreciates moisture, it cannot tolerate waterlogged conditions, which can lead to rapid root decay.
