The species exhibits both winged and wingless morphs. Winged individuals play a crucial role in the spread of the population across agricultural fields during the growing season, moving from plant to plant with ease.

Reproduction is primarily parthenogenetic during the spring and summer, allowing for rapid population growth. In late autumn, sexual reproduction occurs to produce overwintering eggs, ensuring the species' survival through cold months.
