Description
Modena Zucchini is a mid-season hybrid characterized by high yield and heat tolerance. The plant is compact and bushy, with medium-sized dark green leaves, sometimes with light spotting. The fruits are cylindrical in shape, dark green with a glossy sheen and small speckles, 20-22 cm long and weighing from 300 to 450 grams. The fruit ridges are very weak, the surface is smooth and even, ensuring high marketability and an attractive appearance after harvest.
The flesh of Modena zucchini is tender, medium density, juicy and creamy or slightly yellowish, giving it an excellent and pleasant taste. This hybrid is universal in use: fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, freezing, and processing. Due to their plasticity and disease resistance, the variety is recommended for cultivation in early spring and summer-autumn rotations in both open and protected ground.
For successful cultivation of Modena zucchini, it is recommended to sow seedlings at the end of April to early May, followed by transplanting into open ground after the threat of spring frosts. The optimal temperature for growth is 23-25°C, while regular watering, weeding, and feeding are necessary. Harvest is carried out at milky-waxy ripeness when the fruits reach a length of 21-22 cm, which ensures maximum quality and product preservation.
