Tomato BERCAT F1 is an early-maturing indeterminate hybrid characterized by high resistance to major diseases such as tomato mosaic virus, cladosporiosis, verticillium and fusarium wilt, as well as nematodes. This variety is ideal for greenhouse cultivation and intended for the fresh market. Tomato fruits are round, bright red, and have an average weight of 140–160 grams, making them convenient for harvesting and further marketing. Inflorescences are simple, bearing 7–8 fruits, and the strong pedicel with no joint at the fruit stem ensures fruit retention during cluster harvesting.
The tomato BERCAT plant exhibits a well-balanced vegetative growth type with an open habit, promoting good ventilation and fruit illumination. The hybrid is high-yielding and suitable for extended turnover and light cultivation. Due to the strong inflorescence stems and absence of fruit drop, harvesting becomes more convenient and efficient. The plant is resistant to powdery mildew, further enhancing its reliability under various growing conditions.
For successful cultivation of tomato BERCAT, it is recommended to use well-cultivated fertile soils and maintain a thermal regime corresponding to the crop's requirements. Seeds are sown for seedlings at the end of March to early April, and transplanting is performed at the 1–2 true leaf stage. Seedlings are transplanted into the ground at 55–70 days after the threat of frost has passed, following a planting scheme of 50×40 cm. During the vegetative period, timely weeding, pinching, watering, and 2–3 feedings are required to ensure full development and maximum yield.
