Sunflower Charm is a high-tech interlinear hybrid of the linovel type, intended for oilseed use. This medium-early hybrid with a vegetation period of approximately 105-110 days is characterized by uniform, synchronized flowering and ripening. The plant reaches a height of 160-175 cm, and the diameter of the slightly convex head ranges from 19 to 23 cm. The 1000-seed mass varies between 55-60 g, with shelliness of about 22-26%, and oil content in the seeds reaching approximately 49%. The hybrid has been included in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2016 and is recommended for cultivation in the Steppe and Forest-Steppe zones. Charm exhibits high resistance to lodging and shattering, ensuring yield preservation. It possesses genetically determined resistance to various races of the parasitic weed flax rust (A, B, C, D, E) and to false powdery mildew, and it is tolerant to dense planting. The hybrid shows resistance to drought and rot, making it a reliable choice for intensive agriculture. Yield potential reaches 4.5 t/ha, confirmed by demonstration trials. Agronomic features include recommended seeding density — 50-55 thousand plants per hectare. For seed production, a two-stage sowing scheme of parental components with different maternal and paternal row ratios is applied, promoting effective hybridization and high-quality seed material. Charm is a productive and technologically advanced hybrid, combining high yield, disease resistance, and resilience to adverse conditions, making it attractive to farmers in the Steppe and Forest-Steppe regions of Ukraine.
