Sunflower Monarh — this is a high-oleic hybrid developed by Serbian specialists from the Institute of Agriculture Novi Sad. It is characterized by high oleic acid content, exceeding 83%, and oil content in seeds at the level of 50-52%. This hybrid features large black seeds and a robust root system, contributing to its high yield, reaching up to 5 tons per hectare. The vegetation period ranges from 90 to 100 days, classifying Monarh as an early-maturing sunflower variety.
One of the key features of this hybrid is its high resistance to various adverse factors. Monarh possesses genetic resistance to all strains of downy mildew due to the presence of the PL6 gene, providing reliable protection against diseases. Additionally, the plant demonstrates high resistance to drought, lodging, shattering, and temperature fluctuations, including spring frosts and extreme heat. The broad leaves of the hybrid help retain moisture in the soil and suppress weeds, improving growing conditions.
The Monarh hybrid is recommended for cultivation in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including Polissia, Forest Steppe, and Steppe. Its high adaptability to adverse conditions and stable yield make it an attractive choice for farmers seeking high-quality, oil-rich sunflower with high levels of beneficial fatty acids.
