Ninja

Ninja Cucumber F1 — an early parthenocarpic hybrid of cucumber, developed by the breeding company Hazera (Netherlands) and first introduced in 2023. This hybrid is suitable for cultivation in open and protected ground, including greenhouses of any type, as well as polyethylene and glass greenhouses and tunnels. The vegetative period is 40-45 days, making it ideal for early spring and summer sowings, as well as for the second crop cycle. The plant is vigorous, with an open habit and a well-developed root system that efficiently supplies nutrients when there are many fruits on the plant.

The fruits of the Ninja cucumber have a cylindrical shape, 10-13 cm long, with a stable length-to-width ratio of 3.2:1. The skin is of medium thickness, slightly ribbed, but not coarse, ensuring an attractive appearance and excellent marketability. The cucumbers retain freshness and do not lose their firmness during storage, making them highly sought after for both fresh markets and canning. Two to four fruits form at each node, significantly increasing the hybrid's yield.

The Ninja hybrid exhibits high resistance to major viral diseases and powdery mildew, including resistance to CMV, ZYMV, and CVYV (HR/IR). It also tolerates elevated soil salinity, broadening its cultivation potential under various conditions. Thanks to its high yield, uniform fruit shape, and excellent post-harvest storability, Ninja Cucumber F1 is a competitive and sought-after premium-class hybrid.
