Charmant F1 cabbage is an early-maturing, medium-season hybrid of white cabbage developed by Japanese breeders of the Sakata company. The vegetation period is approximately 65–70 days after transplanting seedlings into the soil. The plant is characterized by high growth energy and a strong leafy canopy, which contributes to the formation of round, compact, and dense heads weighing from 1 to 3 kilograms. The cabbage has a dark green color and an attractive market appearance, making it popular in the market.
The hybrid is distinguished by high yield and resistance to various diseases, including bacterial disease, rot, and fusarium, due to plant structure features such as a tall stem. Charmant cabbage adapts well to diverse growing conditions, successfully withstands heat, soil overwatering, and temperature fluctuations, but requires protection from frost. Thanks to these qualities, the hybrid is suitable for cultivation in open ground, plastic tunnels, and greenhouses, expanding its usability across different regions.
In addition, Charmant cabbage has good storability and is not prone to cracking in the field, which facilitates storage and transportation. It is recommended for spring and summer planting and demonstrates high flavor quality. The recommended sowing rate is 50–65 thousand plants per hectare, allowing for a stable and high-quality harvest when agronomic requirements are met.
