In intensive crop production, maintaining weed-free maize fields is essential for maximizing yields. "Gerbonik" is a systemic post-emergence herbicide produced by the "Fabryka Ahrokhimikativ" (Agrochemical Factory) in Cherkasy, Ukraine. The product is based on nicosulfuron, an active ingredient widely recognized in the agricultural industry as a cornerstone for reliable maize protection.

Spectrum of Action and Application

"Gerbonik" acts as a selective foliar-applied herbicide. Its systemic action allows it to penetrate plant tissues and block the development of weeds that compete with maize for water and essential nutrients. The product is highly effective against a variety of problematic weed species:

• Grasses: Common couch (Elymus repens), Barnyard grass (Echinochloa crus-galli), Yellow foxtail (Setaria pumila).
• Broad-leaved weeds: Redroot pigweed (Amaranthus retroflexus), Field mustard (Sinapis arvensis), Wild radish (Raphanus raphanistrum), Common chickweed (Stellaria media), Common purslane (Portulaca oleracea).

The suspension concentrate formulation ensures consistent quality of the spray solution and excellent adhesion to leaf surfaces, which is crucial during application in the 3-10 leaf stage of maize. A single treatment, with a dosage range of 1–1.25 L/ha, is sufficient to clear fields of weeds without causing stress to the crop.
