Atlantix is formulated with a high concentration of acetochlor (900 g/l), a systemic soil-applied herbicide belonging to the chloroacetamide class. Its primary function is the inhibition of protein synthesis and nucleic acid production in emerging weeds. The active ingredient enters the plant via the coleoptile (in grasses) or hypocotyl (in broadleaf weeds), preventing cell division before the weed emerges from the soil surface.

Technical Composition Analysis

The emulsifiable concentrate (EC) formulation ensures high stability of the tank mix and facilitates the rapid formation of a protective chemical barrier in the topsoil layer. Compared to suspension concentrates, the emulsion distributes more effectively throughout the soil profile even with minimal moisture, which is vital for establishing uniform crop emergence in sunflowers, corn, or soybeans.

Operational Guidelines

• Soil Control: Provides robust protection against most annual grass weeds and a wide range of annual broadleaf weeds.
• Application Rates: The effective rate ranges from 1.5 to 3 L/ha, determined by soil type and organic matter content. Heavy clay soils require higher doses, while lighter sandy soils typically perform well at the lower end of the spectrum.
• Timing: Application must be completed strictly pre-emergence. The product should be applied immediately after sowing or on prepared seedbeds, as acetochlor targets specifically germinating weed seeds.
