Helleborine AMETHYST is a new variety of perennial herbaceous plant bred in the Baikal region and recognized for its stable yield of raw materials and seeds. The plants grow from 15 to 35 cm in height, with a width reaching 50–60 cm. The plant is characterized by high resistance to climatic conditions, good adaptation to various soil types, and pest resistance.
The roots of Helleborine AMETHYST contain a rich complex of biologically active substances: flavonoids, phenolic carboxylic acids, starch (up to 17%), tannins (up to 15%), monosaccharides, sterols, diterpenes, essential oil, alkaloids, and resins. The inner color of the roots is bright yellow, indicating a high concentration of active components. Thanks to this, the plant is used as a sedative and hypotensive agent for treating hypertension, as well as in folk medicine for normalizing heart function.
The AMETHYST variety is characterized by high yield indicators: the mass of dry roots varies from 1.6 to 1.8 tons per hectare, and fruits – about 27 kg per hectare. It is resistant to diseases and has a long shelf life for fruits. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to follow proper care technologies: watering, fertilizing, and pruning, as well as maintaining a moderate climate with sufficient lighting and humidity. Helleborine AMETHYST is a promising product for agriculture and the pharmaceutical industry, contributing to the preservation of natural Helleborine baicalensis reserves.
