Description Ural Grape
Early-ripening variety, obtained at the Sverdlovsk Selection Station for gardening in 1954 by pollinating variety Andreev No. 1 with pollen from local varieties Sverdlovsk and Malinovyy. Author: H.Z. Levitin. Since 1997, it has been included in the State Register of Selection Achievements approved for use in the Middle Volga region.

Bush is vigorous, medium-spreading, medium-density, with medium branching. Branches are vertical or slightly inclined. Woody shoots are medium thickness, grayish-yellow with stripes. One-year shoots are thick and medium, green, without hairs. Buds are solitary, medium-large, elongated with a pointed tip, light-brown, without hairs, deviated from the shoot at a 45° angle, terminal bud free. Leaf scar is wedge-shaped. Thorns are strong. Thorns are long, medium, and small, straight, positioned perpendicular to the shoot or slightly downward, single or triple, distributed along the entire length of the shoot. Their number may decrease toward the base and tip of the shoot.

Leaves are medium-sized, dark green with a distinct gloss, without hairs. Surface is wrinkled and leathery. Leaf blade is curved, slightly wavy. Teeth along the leaf blade margin are large, with slightly rounded tips and a "claw" shape. Main vein color is light green, slightly lighter than leaf color. Leaves are three-lobed. Central lobe exceeds lateral lobes. Shape of central lobe is close to oval, lateral lobe edges are cut straight to the base or slightly rounded. Additional protrusions are not pronounced. Notch between central and lateral lobes is medium-sized, narrow, rounded. Lateral lobes are smaller and narrower than central, but similar in shape. Lobe tips are directed toward the leaf apex. Angle between lateral lobe veins is acute. Basal lobes are poorly developed, veins are spread out. Leaf base is rounded. Notch is small, wide, open. Angle between leaf blade base and petiole is close to 90°. Petiole is medium length (2 cm) and thickness, green, positioned at a 30-45° angle to the shoot, with weak hairs.

Flowers are medium-sized (12 mm). Buds are pinkish, sepals are intensely colored, becoming paler as they grow larger. In open flowers, sepals are free, do not overlap, and are almost entirely colored. Petals have a pinkish hue, which fades later.

Berries are large (average mass 4.0 g), oval, emerald-green, bare, with a matte sheen. Berry detachment is easy. Flesh is juicy, dessert-like in taste. Skin is firm with a slight tartness. Veining of berries is strongly expressed, vein branching is weak, vein color is lighter than main berry color. Berry drop is strong. Berry stem is green. Chemical composition: dry matter - 12.8%, total sugars - 9.9%, titratable acidity - 2.1%, P-active substances - 234.0 mg/100 g, ascorbic acid - 23.5 mg/100 g.

Yield is 3.5 kg at five years old, up to 5-7 kg from mature plants. Winter hardiness is good, maximum freezing tolerance is 2 points in severe winters.

Suffers from severe spots and powdery mildew in certain years.

Advantages of the variety: yield, large berry size, fruit taste. Disadvantages: thorniness, berry drop, susceptibility to fungal diseases.
