New systemic fungicide with combined action.
Fluopyram disrupts the respiration process in the mitochondria of the pathogen, blocking succinate dehydrogenase in the second complex of the respiratory chain in mitochondria.
Tebuconazole disrupts sterol synthesis in pathogen cells, blocking C-14 alpha-demethylase.
Luna ® Experience — a product containing an innovative active ingredient.
Fluopyram belongs to the new chemical class pyridylamide and has an extremely broad spectrum of activity. It is highly effective against a large number of higher fungi from the ascomycetes and deuteromycetes taxa. Like other classes of substances, fluopyram blocks the enzymatic chain in the pathogen's mitochondria responsible for respiration and ATP formation — the main bioenergetic source of cells. This chain involves four enzymatic complexes, and fluopyram specifically targets the second complex. Since other respiratory-blocking agents interfere with this chain at different stages, resistance to fluopyram is currently absent.
Fluopyram can accumulate in the upper layer of plant cells and then move inward, reaching xylem vessels and moving through them. In case of soil application, it also demonstrates high root system activity.
To prevent the emergence of pathogen resistance in the future and to broaden the spectrum of action, tebuconazole has been added to the Luna ® Experience formulation alongside fluopyram. Tebuconazole affects a completely different stage of fungal metabolism — namely, ergosterol synthesis for the cell membrane. This makes resistance development unlikely and further enhances the effect against leaf spot diseases and some other ailments.
Since tebuconazole is also a systemic agent, Luna ® Experience is considered a fully systemic combination product. This allows it to be classified as a curative agent, although fungicide applications are better performed preventively, before the onset of widespread disease.
Today, Luna ® Experience surpasses all currently available market products used against higher fungi on vegetable crops — both in terms of spectrum of action and effectiveness.
From an ecological standpoint, Luna ® Experience is safe for beneficial organisms, particularly bees — it does not affect the viability of adult bees and larvae, nor does it impact foraging or pollination activity.
REGISTRATION AND APPLICATION
Pre-harvest interval on all crops — as per registration documentation (2011).
For powdery mildew, use low application rates; for other diseases — medium to high rates. Alternating applications of Luna ® Experience and Native ® provide reliable efficacy on all crops.
ADVANTAGES
Combination of two active ingredients with fundamentally different modes of action.
Prevention of resistance.
Broad spectrum of pathogens on various crops.
Preventive and curative effects
Flexibility in application throughout the season.
Favorable toxicological profile for vegetables.
