Styrax w.s.c. is a systemic and contact fungicide seed treatment. Its effectiveness is rooted in the synergistic combination of Thiram and Carboxin (an oxathiin derivative). This dual-action approach is essential for modern crop production, addressing both surface-borne and seed-borne pathogens simultaneously.

Mechanism of action

• Thiram (Contact component): Acts as a defensive barrier around the seed coat. It inhibits soil-borne fungi that typically cause seed decay and early-stage root rot.
• Carboxin (Systemic component): Moves internally within the seed and seedling. This is vital for controlling deep-seated infections like smuts that contact-only products fail to reach.

The aqueous suspension concentrate formulation ensures superior adhesion to the seed surface. This prevents dust-off during mechanized seeding, ensuring that the target dosage of active ingredients actually reaches the soil. The product is specifically calibrated for use on winter and spring wheat, as well as barley, effectively controlling diseases such as Helminthosporium root rot, Fusarium root rot, and net blotch.
