Yellow Knight is a large annual growing up to 80 cm in height, featuring double yellow flowers up to 20 cm long and 10–12 cm in diameter. The flowers are tubular, oriented vertically like candles, but sometimes droop under their own weight. Each bush blooms with up to twelve inflorescences daily, and individual flowers remain open for about a day. The plant emits a delicate pleasant fragrance, particularly noticeable in the evening during dry and warm weather.
Soil fertility and regular watering are key conditions for abundant and prolonged blooming from July to September. Yellow Knight prefers sunny spots with well-drained loose soil but also grows excellently on compost piles. When planting, do not bury the root collar; sow seeds at a depth of 0.5–1 cm, and seedlings emerge within 10–12 days at temperatures of 18–22 °C.
Plant care includes timely watering, soil loosening, fertilization, and removal of faded flowers to stimulate further development. The plant is unpretentious but can be affected by fungal diseases, so it is important to maintain good ventilation and avoid over-wetting. Yellow Knight is widely used in group and individual plantings, as well as in mixed borders, thanks to its bright appearance and aromatic properties.
