Cucumber Capra F1

Working with Capra F1 by Nunhems

Working with the Capra F1 hybrid, you immediately notice its reliable performance. This is not the case where you have to guess how the plant will react to temperature swings or humidity changes. For an agronomist who values consistency, this cucumber from the Dutch breeder Nunhems becomes a go-to workhorse.

Agrotechnics and Disease Resistance

The biggest headache in cucumber farming is the infection rate. With Capra F1, you can significantly reduce fungicide costs. The hybrid demonstrates excellent immunity against Cladosporium and Cucumber Mosaic Virus. It shows strong resistance to mold and powdery mildew, although standard preventive measures remain necessary. Even under high-density planting conditions in glass greenhouses, the plants remain clean, saving valuable time on sanitary pruning.

Flexibility in Operation

What is truly impressive is the ability to grow it in both glass greenhouses and open field conditions. Capra F1 adapts easily to various environments without requiring complex adjustments to your fertilization schedule. The plant has a well-balanced habit, which makes maintenance easier: trellising and pruning can be done without excessive labor. In terms of yield, it is an intensive type that steadily produces fruit without overstressing the plant, which is critical for maintaining marketability until the final harvest.

• High tolerance to temperature stress.
• Minimal requirements for complex feeding programs.
• Excellent shelf life of the fruits, which is crucial for market sales.

Bottom line: this is a reliable tool if your goal is to minimize risks and secure a predictable volume of produce with minimal effort spent on 'patching up' the plantation.
