Ricinus communis 'KAIMA 71' – an oilseed crop intended for the production of castor oil. The plant is of medium height with a green stem covered by a waxy bloom and a stem of medium length. The fruit capsule is of medium size, remains green and does not crack, which facilitates mechanical harvesting.
The plant's inflorescence is broadly conical, of medium density, and the productive part is long, ensuring a stable yield. The seeds are of medium size, light brown in color, weigh 390 g per thousand pieces, and contain 48% oil – a figure close to optimal for industrial use.
The vegetation period is 130 days, and drought resistance is rated at 5.0 points. Yield reaches 23.4 centners/hectare, with infection by downy mildew lower than standard values. The variety is suitable for mechanical harvesting and processing, making it an attractive choice for agro-industrial enterprises.
'KAIMA 71' is included in the Russian State Register of Plant Varieties for cultivation areas with the aim of producing castor oil. The crop is suitable for cultivation in all listed regions: Northern, North-Western, Central, Volga-Vyatka, North Caucasus, Central Black Earth, North Caucasian, Middle Volga, Lower Volga, Ural, Western Siberia, Eastern Siberia, and Far East.
