Camforosma «Alsu» is a highly efficient forage variety belonging to the herb mixture group and widely used in forage production agrotechnology. The variety is characterized by high palatability and excellent forage qualities, making it a valuable component of hay meadows and pasture systems. Thanks to its resistance to various growth conditions and ability to adapt to different soil types, «Alsu» ensures a stable yield even under unfavorable climatic conditions.
Particular attention deserves the variety's ability to withstand salt stress and moisture deficit, making it an ideal choice for saline and degraded pastures. Within the phytomelioration program, «Alsu» demonstrates productivity of 18–20 centners of dry palatable mass per hectare, significantly exceeding the indicators of natural pastures (1.5–3.0 c/ha). This allows for the effective restoration of degraded land areas and increasing the overall forage base.
The «Alsu» variety is widely used under semi-desert conditions of the Caspian region with annual precipitation of 180–250 mm. Its high resistance to unfavorable factors, as well as excellent palatability, make it an indispensable element of forage systems for cattle breeding, contributing to increased productivity and stability of forage production.
