Wild cabbage Petra F1

Why Petra F1 is the top choice for the fresh produce market

German breeding house Agri-Saaten has introduced a hybrid that addresses the demand for high-quality mid-season cabbage. Petra F1 is not just another white cabbage; it is a specialized tool for growers who prioritize consistency and reliable yields. Unlike many competitors in the 80–90 day maturity window, this hybrid is tailored specifically for the premium fresh market, where both individual head weight and aesthetic appeal are critical.

Key Advantages

• Optimized Weight and Size: A head weight range of 1.0 to 2.0 kg is the gold standard for supermarket retail. These heads are easy to transport, look exceptional on store shelves, and are highly preferred by consumers for single-purchase convenience.
• Barrel-Shaped Head: This specific geometry ensures tightly packed layers, which significantly minimizes waste during the trimming of outer leaves, providing a clean, marketable product.
• Vigor and Resilience: German genetics by Agri-Saaten focus on plant robustness. The hybrid adapts exceptionally well to varying field conditions, maintaining its attractive green color even when faced with fluctuating seasonal temperatures.

Who is this hybrid for?

Petra F1 is the perfect solution for farmers focusing on steady, mid-season sales. It is the go-to choice for those who prefer to avoid the risks associated with massive, oversized heads that often split or lose their shelf appeal. This hybrid is not intended for long-term winter storage; its true strength lies in fresh market supply cycles from mid-summer through autumn. If you are looking for a predictable crop with superior flavor profiles that moves quickly off the shelf, Petra F1 is a sound investment in your agricultural success.
