Hurricane F1

Cabbage variety Hurricane F1 is a mid-season hybrid of white cabbage developed by specialists of the Dutch company Bejo Zaden. The vegetation period is approximately 97-98 days, allowing for harvest within medium timeframes. The plant forms round, dense, and pliable heads weighing 2.5 to 4.5 kg with an elevated leaf rosette. Leaves are gray-green in color, without stiff veins, with a moderate waxy coating, giving them an attractive appearance and high flavor quality. The cabbage has a short stalk, which facilitates handling and preparation for storage.

The hybrid is characterized by high productivity and resistance to adverse weather conditions, including frost, temperature fluctuations, and heat due to its strong root system. It is also resistant to pests such as thrips and is not susceptible to diseases like fusarium, nor does it tend to flower or crack. Recommended planting density is 40-45 thousand plants per hectare, ensuring optimal yield up to 800 tons per hectare. The cabbage adapts well to various cultivation methods, including seedling cultivation, direct sowing in open ground, and cultivation under cover.

Hurricane F1 is suitable for fresh consumption, culinary use, pickling, and thermal processing. The hybrid has a long storage life — up to 7-8 months — while maintaining excellent storability and transportability without damage. Due to these qualities, the cabbage is in demand both on fresh markets and for processing. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to prepare the soil in advance and maintain regular watering, which promotes the formation of high-quality yield and preservation of all beneficial properties of the vegetable.
