KOSTROMICHKA

Vaccinium vitis-idaea 'Kostromichka' is an early-ripening variety that begins bearing fruit in July-August. The bushes are compact and robust, with a plant height typically ranging from 30-45 cm. Each fruit cluster contains about seven berries, making the bush more bountiful compared to many other varieties.

The berries are medium-sized (weighing 0.2–0.3 g), round in shape, and rich dark red in color. The taste is sour-sweet, and the aroma is absent – this is characteristic of this variety. Thanks to its good frost hardiness, the plant withstands colds down to -15°C, and it also has high resistance to diseases.

For successful cultivation of 'Kostromichka', an acidic peat soil with good drainage is required. This plant is suitable for both small gardens and large vegetable plots, where its compact growth allows for easy space management. Thanks to the combination of early ripening, bountiful harvest, and cold resistance, 'Kostromichka' becomes an excellent choice for berry enthusiasts.
