Ukraine Harvests Over 37 Million Tons of Grain and Nearly 14 Million Tons of Oilseeds

As of mid-October 2026, Ukrainian agricultural producers have threshed 7.57 million hectares of grain and legume crops, accounting for over 65% of the projected area. The total volume of harvested grain has reached 37.14 million tons, with an average yield standing at 49.1 centners per hectare.

A significant increase in production over the recent period is observed among late-maturing crops, particularly corn, sunflowers, and soybeans. The harvesting of sugar beets is also actively underway, showing positive operational dynamics.

Specifically, corn gross harvest increased from 1.6 million to 3.5 million tons over the past week. Farmers processed 589.4 thousand hectares (13% of the projected area) with an average yield of 59.1 dt/ha. Sunflowers yielded 7.44 million tons of seeds from 3.44 million hectares (66% of the area) at 21.6 dt/ha. Soybeans were threshed across 1.17 million hectares (73% of the plan), yielding 2.56 million tons at 21.9 dt/ha. Sugar beets were harvested from 31.6 thousand hectares (19% of the forecast), producing 1.58 million tons of root crops at an average yield of 499.8 dt/ha.

Meanwhile, the harvesting of main early grain and legume crops has practically concluded. Wheat production reached 26.15 million tons from 5.12 million hectares with a yield of 51.1 dt/ha. Barley yielded 6.55 million tons from 1.48 million hectares at 44.3 dt/ha. Peas were harvested from 302.1 thousand hectares totaling 823.7 thousand tons (27.3 dt/ha), while winter and spring rapeseed yielded 3.88 million tons from 1.33 million hectares (29.2 dt/ha). Cereal crop harvesting is also wrapping up, with buckwheat threshed on 91% of the area (55.6 thousand tons) and millet on 88% (81.3 thousand tons).

Among the leaders in total grain harvest volumes are Odesa region (5.65 million tons), Dnipropetrovsk region (2.83 million tons), and Vinnytsia region (2.73 million tons). The highest average grain yield was recorded in Khmelnytskyi region farms at 70.5 dt/ha, followed by Sumy (66.3 dt/ha), Vinnytsia (60.6 dt/ha), and Ivano-Frankivsk (58.7 dt/ha) regions.
