Tekom Agro Group completes winter barley sowing for the 2027 harvest in one of its farms

Yasni Zori LLC, operating within the Tekom Agro Group agricultural association, has successfully completed the sowing campaign for winter barley for the 2027 harvest. According to the chief agronomist of the farm, Oleksandr Lakey, the total sown area across three departments in the Podilsk district reaches 2,000 hectares.

The sowing campaign was carried out smoothly and efficiently within just five days. The largest area under winter barley this year is in the Abamelikovo department, where 1,200 hectares were sown exclusively with the Hannelore variety. Another 700 hectares are located in the Mardarivka department, featuring two varieties: Hannelore alongside a new variety for the northern zone, Kazanova from Limagrain. In Dibrivka, winter barley covers 160 hectares.

The sowing was performed with the application of fertilizers—Ammophos at a rate of 80 kg/ha. Field operations utilized Horsch Pronto and John Deere sowing units aggregated with John Deere tractors. All crops across Tekom Agro Group farms are cultivated exclusively using vertical tillage technology (Verti-till).

As noted by Vyacheslav Naumchuk, chief agronomist of Tekom Agro Group, high-quality pre-sowing soil cultivation is a crucial prerequisite for obtaining healthy seedlings and the desired yield. Verti-till technology allows the soil to reach a seedbed condition with minimal moisture loss. When forming crop rotations, the agricultural enterprises strive to position barley after optimal predecessors to reduce weed infestation and plant diseases.

The predecessors for winter barley at Yasni Zori LLC for the 2027 harvest were winter rapeseed and sunflower. Notably, another farm within Tekom Agro Group has also recently completed the sowing of winter durum wheat.
