Rapeseed Prices in Ukraine to Remain Stable in the Near Future
In October, Ukraine exported 378 thousand tons of rapeseed, slightly missing its planned targets due to mounting logistical difficulties, according to analysts from the PUSK agricultural cooperative. Problems associated with corn transportation have also negatively affected external shipments of rapeseed.
According to expert assessments, transportation bottlenecks have impacted overall shipping schedules. Specifically, a portion of rail cars booked for logistics back in August and September failed to arrive for loading. While stakeholders plan to shift these unfulfilled volumes to November, a shortage of locomotive traction and ongoing border delays continue to complicate export operations significantly.
On the domestic Ukrainian market, no significant price changes have been observed so far. In Danube ports, purchase prices range between 21,500 and 22,000 UAH per ton, whereas processing enterprises are offering around 20,000 UAH per ton. Meanwhile, demand from processors remains relatively weak.
At Ukraine's western border, purchase prices for rapeseed are forming within the 470–480 EUR per ton range. Buyers are considering railway supplies via Chop and Batevo, focusing primarily on deliveries scheduled for January through March 2027. Subsequent price dynamics will depend on developments in the European stock exchange market.
If exchange quotations drop to 543–545 EUR per ton, purchase prices at the western border could decrease by approximately 5 EUR or 5 USD per ton, while Danube port prices might drop by 100–200 UAH per ton. Despite these potential minor adjustments, PUSK analysts do not expect any sharp or substantial price fluctuations on the Ukrainian rapeseed market in the near future.
