Enterprises sent 1.7 million turkeys for slaughter in the first 3 quarters

During January-September 2026, Ukrainian agricultural enterprises demonstrated significant production volumes in the poultry sector, specifically in turkey farming. According to official data from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, 1.7 million heads of turkeys were sent for slaughter in the first three quarters of the current year. The total live weight of the poultry raised and prepared for processing reached 27.5 thousand tons over this period.

Analyzing the monthly dynamics, in September 2026 alone, domestic enterprises directed 193 thousand heads of turkeys for slaughter. Meanwhile, the volume of poultry meat in live weight for the first month of autumn reached 3.1 thousand tons. These figures indicate the stable operation of specialized poultry farms and a steady consumer demand for dietary poultry meat in the domestic market.

Commercial turkey farming requires strict adherence to technological regulations and husbandry standards. In particular, industry experts and technologists note that the traditional slaughter of turkeys begins from the 90th day of their life. By this age, subject to proper feeding and management standards, the birds reach optimal conditions for quality meat production.

The development of the turkey sector plays an important role in ensuring the country's food security and diversifying Ukraine's meat market. Modern poultry complexes implement advanced biosecurity methods, disease prevention, and energy-efficient housing, which helps maintain production profitability amid fluctuating feed prices and energy costs.

Statistical data provided by the State Statistics Service serve as a reliable benchmark for agricultural market analysts, processors, and producers themselves. They make it possible to forecast further trends in the development of the poultry industry, supply volumes in the domestic market, and potential export opportunities for Ukrainian poultry products under current economic and wartime challenges.
