Kazakhstan Feed Flour Exports Surge by 30% at the Start of the New Season
Exports of feed flour (a wheat-barley mix) from Kazakhstan totaled 374.4 thousand tonnes in September of the 2026/27 marketing year. This figure was reported by Yevgeny Karabanov, head of the analytics committee at the Grain Union of Kazakhstan, citing official data from the State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to the expert, the volume of shipments represents a 30.7% increase compared to August, and exceeds the figure for the same period of the previous season by 22.8%. Karabanov emphasized that this monthly result is the highest in the entire history of observations.
China served as the primary driver behind this substantial growth, accounting for over 99% of total exports in this category. The analyst noted that the surge in feed flour shipments to China occurred despite stricter requirements imposed by Chinese regulatory authorities and periodic logistical bottlenecks at border crossings.
Amid robust demand, export prices for the wheat-barley feed flour in Kazakhstan have remained stable in recent weeks. Prices for products with a protein content of 12%+ on DAP Dostyk / Altynkol terms hovered between 250 and 255 USD per tonne toward the end of last week.
Market experts point out that this successful start to the season strengthens the position of Kazakhstani grain processors in Asian markets. Future export performance will largely depend on border crossing capacities and the maintenance of current price trends on external markets.
