The residual activity typically lasts from 90 to 150 days, fully covering the period of pest activity. Additional adjustments during the season are generally not required unless abnormal weather conditions occur.

Experts recommend combining pheromone disruption with other protective methods in years with high pest pressure. This provides reliable control, with pheromones serving as a key part of an integrated pest management (IPM) program.

Restrictions

One of the main limitations is the inability to achieve complete protection when pest populations are extremely high, as the density of moths may exceed the critical threshold for the mating disruption method to be effective.

Strict storage guidelines must be followed: pheromones are highly sensitive to heat and light. Products should be stored in airtight packaging in a refrigerator to prevent premature evaporation of the active components.

Safety precautions during handling include wearing gloves to prevent skin contact with concentrated pheromone. The substance has a distinct, strong odor that may attract insects to the operator's clothing.

When installing dispensers, it is strictly forbidden to manually open their protective shells unless specified by the instructions. Mechanical damage to the capsule leads to a rapid loss of efficacy due to sudden evaporation of the entire volume.

Efficacy may temporarily decrease during extreme wind gusts, which dilute the pheromone concentration in the air. In such cases, agronomists may supplement the protection system with localized insecticide treatments.
