Methazole

Description

Mode of action

Methazole belongs to the chemical class of thiadiazines. In terms of its functional purpose in plant protection, it is classified as a fungicide with a pronounced systemic effect. The substance has the ability to penetrate plant tissues, providing both a protective and curative effect against a wide range of infectious diseases.

The mechanism of action of methazole is based on the inhibition of metabolic processes in pathogen cells. It disrupts the normal development of the fungal mycelium by blocking specific enzymatic pathways. This leads to the cessation of colony growth and rapid death of the disease pathogen on the treated plant surface.

The systemic properties of the active substance allow it to be evenly distributed throughout the crop's vascular system. As a result, the preparation protects not only the parts of the plant covered by the solution but also new growth that forms some time after application.

The product shows high efficiency when optimal temperature regimes are maintained. The systemic nature of methazole minimizes the risk of the active substance being washed off by rainfall, which significantly increases the overall biological productivity of each treatment.

In field conditions, methazole demonstrates a prolonged effect, ensuring crop protection during critical vegetation stages. This makes it a valuable tool in integrated crop protection programs against fungal disease epiphytotics.

What it targets

This group of substances is used primarily to control agents of powdery mildew, rust, and various types of leaf spots. Methazole effectively contains infection outbreaks across a wide range of cereal, fruit, and vegetable crops.

The main target objects are pathogens from the classes of ascomycetes and basidiomycetes. The use of methazole-based fungicides helps prevent significant yield losses caused by the premature death of vegetative biomass.

Rates and timing

Application rates depend on the degree of infection pressure and the growth stage of the crop. The product is usually applied during the active growth period, when conditions are favorable for the spread of fungal spores.

It is recommended to perform spraying in the morning or evening hours in the absence of strong wind. The frequency of treatments and the intervals between them are strictly regulated by the instructions for each specific commercial product to avoid pathogen resistance.

Restrictions

When handling methazole, it is essential to strictly follow personal hygiene rules and use personal protective equipment. The substance must not enter water bodies, as it poses a potential hazard to aquatic fauna.

Adherence to pre-harvest intervals is a mandatory requirement. It is not recommended to mix the product with highly alkaline or highly acidic pesticides without prior compatibility testing.
