Cyflufenamid belongs to the amidoxime chemical class. It is an innovative active ingredient that exhibits strong curative and preventive systemic activity against a broad spectrum of pathogens.

The primary mechanism of action involves the inhibition of haustoria formation and mycelium development of the fungus. The substance disrupts the energy metabolism within the pathogen's cells, leading to the rapid death of fungal colonies.

A unique feature of cyflufenamid is its ability to suppress spore production on already infected plant tissues. This makes it an extremely effective tool in programs aimed at controlling the development of epiphytotics.

The product possesses a pronounced vapor effect (fumigant action) and high translaminar mobility within leaf tissues. This allows it to protect areas of the plant that were not directly reached by the spray solution.

The substance is characterized by high resistance to rainfall washout, providing an extended protection period, which often lasts from 14 to 21 days depending on environmental conditions and disease pressure.

What it targets

Cyflufenamid specializes in controlling pathogens belonging to the powdery mildew group (Erysiphales). It is primarily effective against diseases manifesting as powdery mildew on various crops.

The main targets for this active ingredient are the causal agents of powdery mildew on vineyards, fruit trees, vegetable crops, and cereals.

Due to its high specificity, the substance works successfully even in cases where pathogens have developed resistance to other fungicide groups, such as triazoles or strobilurins.

Cyflufenamid is of particular importance in viticulture, as it reliably protects both leaves and grape clusters from powdery mildew (oidium) at all stages of vine development.

Rates and timing

Application rates for cyflufenamid vary depending on the crop and the intensity of the disease pressure. Thanks to its extremely high biological activity, the required doses are very low compared to traditional fungicides.

As a general rule, the number of applications per season should not exceed two. This is critical for preventing the development of resistance, even though cyflufenamid itself is a powerful tool in anti-resistance strategies.

Application timing covers the period from the appearance of initial visual symptoms to the end of the flowering stage. The product is most effective during periods of intensive vegetative growth.

Uniform spraying is recommended to ensure high-quality coverage of the leaf surface. The product is stable across a wide temperature range, making it convenient for field use.

When using in tank mixtures, compatibility tests should be performed. Cyflufenamid combines well with many modern insecticides and other fungicide products.

Restrictions

When working with cyflufenamid, standard safety procedures for handling pesticides must be strictly followed. Personal protective equipment is mandatory to ensure the health and safety of the operator.
