Under favorable conditions, particularly in soils with high organic content and moisture, they can complete their life cycle rapidly, leading to significant population increases within a single growing season.

Nature of damage and harmfulness: The harmfulness of these nematodes is largely due to their feeding activities on root hairs and epidermal cells. This damage stunts plant growth, reduces nutrient uptake, and compromises the root system's integrity, making the plants highly susceptible to soil-borne pathogens and systemic diseases.
