The fruit ripens in 60 to 70 days, making it suitable for early market use and household consumption. Plants are characterized by vigorous growth, strong vegetative mass, and well-developed root systems, which promote the formation of no fewer than three large fruits on long and sturdy vines.
Madison F1 watermelon fruits have a round-oval shape, measuring approximately 28-35 cm in length and 25 cm in diameter, with an average weight ranging from 10 to 15 kg. The fruit skin is dense, 9-12 mm thick, striped, and resistant to cracking, ensuring high transportability and long-term storage without loss of quality. The flesh is a rich red color, uniform, free of cavities or fibers, with high sugar content (11-12%) and aroma, making the watermelon exceptionally juicy and sweet.
To achieve maximum yield and fruit quality, irrigation should be organized during the fruit-setting stage, and root feedings should be applied.
