PONY

The PONY tomato is a medium-early, tall variety developed by Canadian breeder Karen Oliver and introduced in 2023. The plants are sturdy and bushy, reaching up to 2 meters in height, with thick stems and ordinary leaves. The plant is characterized by high yield, with 4 to 5 fruits per truss, each weighing 400 to 500 grams.

The fruits of the PONY tomato have a unique and very attractive appearance. They are flat-round in shape with large ridges and plump shoulders, free from cracks and green hard spots. A distinctive feature of this variety is the unusual purplish-matte color of the fruits, with smoky-purple and chocolate tones that change depending on lighting. When cut open, the flesh is red with green gel in the seed chambers.
