Hybrid F1 Alhambra TmC5F2 belongs to the group of large-fruited hybrids. In 2006, the hybrid was widely grown in greenhouse complexes of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus. It proved itself well both on soil and under low-volume hydroponics. Excellent results were obtained when growing this hybrid in the second crop cycle.
The hybrid is medium-early (110-115 days from germination to flowering). Plants exhibit a generative growth type. Planting density 2.2-2.5 plants/m2. The first flower cluster forms above the 9th-10th leaf, subsequent clusters strictly every 3 leaves. Flower clusters are simple, medium-length, do not form 'bends'. Fruit set is regulated on the first five flower clusters, leaving 4 fruits on the first cluster, no more than 5 on the others. The 4th-6th flower clusters contain fruits of equal size, facilitating sorting. Comparative uniformity of fruits is observed throughout the plant. Average fruit weight depends on the timing and technology of cultivation and ranges from 150-180 g. In the summer-autumn crop cycle, fruits are larger, 160-200 g. They are 4-5-chambered, flat-round or round in shape, smooth with a shiny skin. Before ripening, fruits have a light-green color, without a spot at the stem; ripe fruits are bright red. Fruits are very attractive, firm, and have a pleasant taste. They do not crack or suffer from blossom end rot, whether grown on soil or under low-volume hydroponics. Fruits maintain high commercial quality for 3-4 weeks and withstand long-distance transportation well.
The hybrid is resistant to tobacco mosaic virus, cladosporiosis, and fusarium.
Hybrid F1 Alhambra is characterized by uniform fruiting. Yield in extended crop cycle up to 54 kg/m2, in the second crop cycle 12-13 kg/m2 and higher.
