F1 Emerald City — a very early, parthenocarpic, bush-type cucumber hybrid with female flowering, suitable for both protected and open ground cultivation. Medium branching. Forms 2-3 to 5-6 fruits per node. Fruits are bumpy, white-stemmed, 9-12 cm long, 2.9-3.5 cm in diameter, weighing 90-110 g, tasty and crisp. Bump placement is frequent. High canning and pickling qualities. The hybrid exhibits vigorous fruiting under any growing conditions, producing uniform, attractive fruits. Resistant to olive spot, cucumber mosaic virus, powdery mildew, tolerant to downy mildew.
Sowing/planting in unheated greenhouses from May 15-20, in open ground from June 1-5 (middle region of Russia). In southern regions, sowing/planting is earlier (April—May). Planting density in greenhouses: 2.5 plants/m², in open ground: 3-4 plants/m².
