F1 Relay has been introduced at the Vegetable Experimental Station named after V. I. Edelstein of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia. The hybrid's authors are employees of LLC "Seed Selection and Seed Company 'Manul'. It is a main, high-yielding, medium-maturing, bee-pollinated hybrid, predominantly female-flowering. Branching ranges from weak to medium. It enters fruiting stage on the 53-66th day after germination. The fruits are 15-20 cm long, with white, complex, sparse hairs. Yield in winter greenhouses is 25-44 kg/sq. m. The hybrid has increased shade tolerance and high adaptability to environmental factors. The hybrid responds to nighttime air temperature. To prevent excessive male flower formation (which may occur under elevated nighttime temperatures), nighttime air temperature should be maintained at 16-17°C for 10-12 days prior to transplanting seedlings and for the following 2 weeks after transplanting. The hybrid is resistant to cucumber mosaic virus and moderately resistant to root rots.
