F1 Marathon is grown at the Vegetable Experimental Station named after V.I. Edelstein of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The hybrid's breeders are employees of LLC "Seed Selection and Seed Production Company 'Manul'. Main, medium-maturing, insect-pollinated hybrid predominantly with female flowering type. Branching from weak to medium. Green fruits 16-23 cm long, white, complex, sparse hairs. Yield by July 1st: 25-28 kg/sq. m. Highly in demand in southern regions of the country for summer cultivation in plastic greenhouses and open ground. Resistant to common cucumber mosaic virus.
