F1 Manul was developed at the Vegetable Experimental Station named after V.I. Edelstein of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture. The breeders of the hybrid are employees of LLC "Selective and Seed Company 'Manul'. It is a main, high-yielding, medium-maturing, bee-pollinated hybrid, predominantly female-flowering. It begins fruiting in winter on the 55-65th day after emergence. Branching ranges from weak to medium. Seedlings are 15-22 cm long, with white, complex, sparse hairs. Average yield by July 1 is 22-27 kg/sq.m, total yield in extended cultivation — 32-37 kg/sq.m. Poorly tolerates high salt concentration in soil. When planted very early under insufficient light, it may be affected by necrosis. Characterized by high ecological plasticity. Resistant to cucumber mosaic virus, moderately resistant to root rots.
