SAKHARA, E.C. is a systemic soil-applied herbicide formulated with acetochlor, a chloroacetamide compound. Its primary mode of action involves the inhibition of protein and nucleic acid synthesis within the meristematic tissues of target weeds. By creating a 'protective barrier' in the upper soil layer, the herbicide is absorbed by the emerging weed's coleoptile or hypocotyl, effectively halting growth before the plant reaches the soil surface.

Formulation and Selective Efficiency

The Emulsifiable Concentrate (E.C.) formulation is engineered to ensure superior dispersion and stability of the active ingredient across the soil surface. For a soil-applied herbicide, this physical consistency is crucial to ensure a uniform layer of chemical protection, which prevents early-season competition. • Spectrum and Dosage: The product effectively manages primary annual weed species. Depending on soil texture and infestation pressure, the recommended application rate ranges from 1.5 to 3 liters per hectare.
• Safety and Regulation: Given its Class 2 hazard rating, precise adherence to application protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements is mandatory. The product is limited to a single application per growing season.
