The core active ingredient of Scout is ethametsulfuron-methyl, belonging to the sulfonylurea chemical family. The systemicity of the product is based on the inhibition of the acetolactate synthase (ALS) enzyme, which is critical for weed development. By blocking this enzyme, Scout causes rapid cessation of cell division and growth in susceptible weed species immediately after the product is absorbed through the foliage.

Weed Control Spectrum and Selectivity

Designed for winter oilseed rape, Scout offers high selectivity, making it a reliable tool for controlling annual broad-leaved weeds. It is particularly effective against tough species such as common lambsquarters, field mustard, field pennycress, shepherd's purse, and field pansy. Because the herbicide is systemic, it moves through the plant's vascular system, ensuring it reaches the weeds' growth points and minimizing the risk of regrowth.

Formulation and Application Standards

Scout is formulated as an aqueous suspension concentrate, which provides excellent dispersion in water and uniform coverage of the crop canopy.
