Mechanism of Action: Systemic Weed Control

Mitron is a selective herbicide based on metamitron (a triazine derivative), engineered to ensure weed-free crops of fodder and table beets. Its primary technical advantage lies in its ability to inhibit photosynthesis in weeds at the cellular level. Applied via post-emergence spraying, the active ingredient blocks electron transport in photosystem II, leading to the irreversible wilting of target weeds.

The Importance of Selectivity

The main challenge in protecting beets is the crop's sensitivity to chemical agents. The Mitron suspension concentrate is designed as a selective tool: it recognizes the metabolic pathways of the beet crop, allowing it to neutralize the substance, while target weeds receive a lethal dose. This makes it an ideal “insurance” herbicide for post-emergence application.

Target Spectrum and Application Strategy

The product effectively manages the growth of a wide range of broad-leaved weeds, including the most difficult-to-control species:

• Amaranthus retroflexus, Chenopodium album;
• Stellaria media, Capsella bursa-pastoris;
• Galium aparine, Lamium purpureum;
• Polygonum convolvulus, Viola arvensis.

Application technology requires split dosing. Up to 3 treatments per season are allowed, with an application rate of 1–5 L/ha, depending on the weed growth stage and field infestation levels. Its systemic nature ensures deep penetration into plant tissues, which is critical for controlling overgrown weeds.

Quality control during production is handled by the manufacturing facilities of Frandesa (Republic of Belarus) and Shchelkovo Agrokhim-KZ (Republic of Kazakhstan), ensuring the consistency of the suspension concentrate's physical and chemical properties during storage and mixing.
