«Cletect» is a specialized systemic herbicide based on the active ingredient clethodim. Mechanism of Action and Selectivity

As a graminicide, Cletect inhibits the enzyme acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACCase), a critical node in lipid biosynthesis. By blocking this enzyme, the product halts the synthesis of cellular membranes in meristematic tissues, leading to the destruction of the growth points. Importantly, broadleaf crops (sugar beet, oilseed rape, soy, flax, potato) lack the sensitive form of this enzyme, ensuring full crop safety and selective control.

• Systemic Movement: Unlike contact-only herbicides, clethodim translocates quickly through the phloem to reach underground organs, which is vital for the control of rhizomatous weeds such as quackgrass (Elymus repens).
