Rincozeb

Working with Rinkotseb

Rinkotseb from Nertus offers exactly this. It is a workhorse that doesn't require constant babying if your sprayer is properly calibrated.

Application and Performance

The strength of Rinkotseb lies in its dual-action formula. The systemic component (metalaxyl) protects the new growth, while the contact component (mancozeb) creates a protective shield on the leaves. It is a powerful tool, but it requires discipline: keep an eye on the three-treatment limit to maintain efficacy and prevent pathogen resistance.

Practical Tips for Operators

• Preparation: As a wettable powder, it requires proper mixing in a stock solution to ensure even distribution in the tank. It flows well through standard nozzles without clogging issues.
• Safety and Timing: With a 25-day pre-harvest interval, careful planning is essential. As it is a Class 3 hazard product, standard PPE (gloves, goggles, and respirator) is mandatory, but it does not produce excessive dust during tank loading.

In terms of maintenance, this product is very forgiving. It doesn't leave heavy residues that corrode equipment or clog strainers if cleaned properly after the shift. For the price and the results, it is a professional-grade product that fits perfectly into an integrated pest management strategy for fruit and vegetable growers.
