Cucumber Vokal F1

Reliable Yields Without Surprises

This hybrid is a workhorse for growers who value predictability. As a parthenocarpic variety, it eliminates the need for insect pollinators, which is critical for indoor production. The plant exhibits strong vegetative growth, quickly developing the foliage needed to support heavy fruit production.

Operational Performance and Harvest

Whether grown in greenhouses or open fields, this hybrid demonstrates excellent uniformity. The 10–12 cm fruit with a 3.1:1.0 ratio is the gold standard for gherkins, packing perfectly and meeting retail requirements. The heavily ribbed surface looks attractive, and the fruit itself is dense and free of hollows. With a maturity window of 40–45 days, it allows for a rapid return on investment by hitting the market early in the season.

Disease Management and Care

Every grower’s headache is powdery mildew. «Vokal RZ F1» is noticeably more resistant than many competitors, which significantly reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications. Under intensive farming conditions, this translates into direct savings on inputs and labor. The plant requires standard pruning; because it is vegetative-leaning, keep an eye on the canopy balance to ensure fruits receive sufficient light and nutrients. The variety responds well to fertigation and thrives under the standard feeding protocols typical for premium Rijk Zwaan hybrids.
