Cucumber Paramon is an early parthenocarpic hybrid with a period from germination to the start of fruiting of 39-43 days. Open-type plants with limited branching and horizontal dark green medium to large leaves provide good ventilation. Flowering is female, with 2 to 4 fruit set per node. Fruits have a cylindrical shape, 10-12 cm long, 3.5-4.0 cm in diameter, and weigh 90-120 grams. Their surface is bumpy with clearly defined central bumps and white spines, and their color is dark green. The fruits are highly uniform in size and color, making them ideal for "on the tray" presentation. The flavor of the fruits is excellent, and their versatility allows for use both fresh and for processing.
The Paramon hybrid is characterized by high yield — up to 40 kg of cucumbers per square meter during the summer season. The plant prefers bright and moist conditions, but poorly tolerates direct sunlight. For successful cultivation, greenhouses with fertile soil and air temperature above 15 degrees are recommended. Five to six feedings are required during the season. Among the good predecessors for planting Paramon cucumber, pea, corn, onion, beans, and parsley are recommended, while tomato, eggplant, zucchini, carrot, zucchini, pepper, cucumber, and pumpkin are considered undesirable.
The variety exhibits high resistance to major diseases such as cladosporiosis, true powdery mildew, root rot, and cucumber mosaic virus, as well as medium resistance to false powdery mildew. Due to its reliability, ease of cultivation, and excellent flavor, cucumber Paramon is an excellent choice for both novice gardeners and professional growers.
