Wild cabbage Brilliant F1

A Dutch Standard in Brussels Sprouts

Dutch breeding has long been synonymous with agricultural reliability, and the Brilliant F1 hybrid from Nickerson Zwaan is a prime example of this excellence. Developed in partnership with Hazera Seeds, this late-maturing Brussels sprout variety has secured a firm position in the professional market. Its pedigree, involving experts from Hazera and Gerard Balder, reflects a focus on high yields combined with superior market quality.

Cultivation and Performance

Brilliant F1 is a late-season hybrid requiring a maturation period of 130–140 days from transplanting. Precision in crop management is key to success; experts recommend a planting density of 30,000 to 35,000 plants per hectare. This spacing ensures the development of uniform, dense sprouts that maintain their integrity throughout harvesting and logistics.

Market Versatility

The strength of this hybrid lies in its dual-purpose utility, satisfying both retail and industrial segments:

• Fresh Market: The uniform size and attractive appearance meet the high expectations of retail consumers.
• Processing: Its dense structure makes it an excellent candidate for industrial processing, particularly deep-freezing.

By choosing this Nickerson Zwaan variety, growers invest in a proven, high-performing hybrid designed for durability and consistency. Whether for high-end fresh sales or processing lines, Brilliant F1 provides the reliability necessary for modern commercial vegetable production.
